Did you know that this little mammal is venomous?
The Northern short-tailed shrew (Blarina brevicauda) uses a neurotoxin in its
saliva to kill its prey, which includes insects, snails, and even some
mice and salamanders that may be bigger than the shrew itself. They are semifossorial, and found in the NE part of North America.
